Not an emergency service. The quote form does not dispatch anyone. In an emergency, contact your security provider or SAPS on 10111.
Armed Response is a monthly service where a security company sends a response officer to your property when your monitored alarm or panic button is triggered. It suits households and businesses that want someone to physically attend, not only an alert on a phone.
- Give your town or suburb, since response depends on local coverage.
- Say whether your alarm is already monitored and by whom.
- Say whether you need a new alarm or only response.
Describe your property once and compare armed response providers.
Compare Armed Response ProvidersHow Armed Response Works
- Your alarm or panic button sends a signal to the company's control room.
- The controller checks the signal and may call you to confirm.
- A response officer on patrol in your area is dispatched.
- The officer checks the property and reports back.
- The control room contacts you and, where needed, SAPS or emergency services.
Response depends on a working link between your alarm and the control room. See alarm monitoring.
Local Coverage
Response companies cover specific suburbs and patrol zones. A company may operate in your city but not your street. Ask each one to confirm your address is covered and how many vehicles patrol that zone.
Response Times
No company can guarantee an arrival time. Traffic, simultaneous call-outs, gated estates and distance all affect it. Ask for average response times in your area and how they are measured, and treat any guaranteed time with caution.
Contracts and Fees
- Monthly fee, and whether it includes monitoring.
- Contract length and notice period.
- Annual radio, admin or linking fees.
- False-alarm penalties.
- Annual price increases.
- Whether equipment is owned by you or the company. See alarm system rental.

Ballpark figures, not quotations. Compiled from prices published by South African suppliers, retailers, installers and security companies, checked October 2026 and rounded. They are not our prices and no provider is bound by them. Equipment-only prices exclude installation. Some guide figures come from installer marketing pages and are less reliable than retailer prices. Confirm whether VAT is included on every quote.

What to Include in Your Request
- Town or suburb.
- Property type.
- Alarm brand and current provider, if any.

- Match. Independent security companies that may operate in your area can respond.
- Check coverage. Each provider confirms whether your address is in their response area.
- Compare. Compare fees, terms and the answers to the questions above.

Armed Response FAQs
Does armed response guarantee a time?
No company can promise an arrival time. Ask for local average times and how they are measured.
Do I need a new alarm for armed response?
Not always. Many companies can link an existing alarm if it has a compatible communicator.
Can I get armed response without monitoring?
Armed response relies on a control room receiving your signals, so the two normally come together.
Is the quote form an emergency service?
No. It is for requesting quotes. In an emergency, contact your security provider or SAPS on 10111.
Can I cancel an armed response contract?
Terms differ. Check notice periods, minimum terms and equipment return conditions before signing.
