Last updated: 23 October 2026. This policy explains how Alarm Systems South Africa (alarmsystemssa.co.za) handles personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
What We Collect
- Details you enter in the quote request form, such as your name, contact details, town or suburb, property type, the service you need, your alarm brand and other requirements.
- The page you sent the request from, so we know which service you were looking at.
- Messages you send us by phone or WhatsApp.
- Basic technical information, such as your IP address, recorded by the form service to help prevent spam.
Please do not send alarm codes, passwords or other security credentials. We do not need them and will not ask for them.
Why We Use It
- To pass your enquiry to relevant independent alarm installers, technicians and security companies so they can contact you and quote.
- To respond to your questions.
- To prevent spam and abuse, and to improve the service.
Who We Share It With
When you submit a quote request, we share your enquiry and contact details with independent alarm providers relevant to your request. Those businesses are separate and handle your information under their own responsibilities. The quote form is provided by Elfsight, and we also use service providers that host the website and deliver email. We do not sell your information.
Third-Party Services on This Website
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, the quote form and a reviews widget from Elfsight, a notification widget from ProveSource and a Google follow button. These services may receive your IP address and browser details when the page loads, under their own privacy policies.
How Long We Keep It
We keep enquiry information only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and meet legal or record-keeping obligations, then delete it.
Your Rights
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to its use, by contacting us through the contact page. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Security
The website uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections and we take reasonable steps to protect your information. No system is completely secure.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
